Giving Thanks for the Harvest
Today, we came together as a school and parish community to give thanks to God for the harvest. It was a joyful celebration filled with gratitude, music, and prayer as we reflected on the blessings of the season and the importance of sharing what we have with others.
Father Peter put our knowledge to the test with some fun fruit and vegetable questions, much to everyone’s enjoyment! During the offertory, we were proud to present some of the beautiful food hampers that will be donated to Fosterfield Day Centre and Living Waters, helping to support those in need within our local community. These generous donations were kindly provided by our parents and families — thank you for your continued support and kindness.
We also offered some of the vegetables we’ve grown ourselves in our school polytunnel. A special thank you goes to Mr King, one of our parishioners and school governors, Miss Bishop, and our Laudato Si ambassadors for all the hard work and care they put into nurturing our gardens throughout the year.
It was a wonderful celebration of faith, community, and generosity — a true reminder of how much we can achieve when we come together.
