The scores are in…
On the 21st of June recently, it was St. Josephs sports day and this is the report of year ones sports day. It all began with a fun warm up prepared by Mrs. Bades, then the confident class moved onto their long run races and here are our winners: Alfie Scull (St. Luke), Ocean Taylor (St. Luke), Amelia Craddock (St. Peter), Lewis Green (St. Matthew), Jack (St. Peter), Kyle (St. Peter), Tyler (St. John) and finally Freya (St. Matthew).
These simply superb students displayed their most effort. Then the cheery children went on to Long Jump, we only recorded the longest jumps from each house/ team. The pupils pushed themselves to the limit but unfortunately lots of them didn’t make it to winning overall against some of their other classmates. In each house/team the winners were: Carly McCrea with an amazing 1.29 meters (St. John), Kyle with a great 1.40 meters (St. Peter), Zach also had 1.40 meters (St. Matthew) and finally joint in St. Luke was Alfie S and Ocean. The class were almost certain that their teams would win.
The superb sprinters ran fiercely across the finish line Zach from St. Matthew, Ruby from St. John, Freya from St. Matthew, Carly McCrea from St. John, Daniel- St. John, Monica- St. John, Saffy again from St. John and also Ruby once again from St. John. It has obviously been a promising day for St. John but all will be revealed.
The final event for year one was Javelin. In joint for St. Matthew was Phoebe and Zach with 9, St. Luke was Alfie S with the highest recorded score of 12, in St. Peter Jack and Amelia both got 8.5 meters and St. john was won by Tyler with 9
The highlight of the day. The winners overall. 4th: St. Matthew (11,433). 3rd: St. Luke (11,887). 2nd: St. John (11,952) and finally 1st with a staggering 12,332 points the winning team who now will have a fun packed visit to the leisure centre and come in their own clothes, the winner was… St. Peters. I was able to get quotes off the winning teammates Abi Campbell- yay. The scores were so tight next year will hopefully be great for their class.
