RECEPTION CLASS BLOG

2 July 2015

As most people are aware of, Tuesday the 22nd June was sports day. To make it special, this was Reception class’ first ever sports day. This event started at 1:15pm as all the infant classes gathered together in the hall to march to the field. Then they did a fun warm up to get them prepared for the adventure ahead of them.

Firstly, they started with javelin. The creative children pretended they were launching rockets into the sky and their scores were AMAZING! After that, they went to the centre of the field to do their long run. Surprisingly, the pupils of Reception were really fast. They were as rapid as lightning and showed resilience as they all ran around the field once. The fastest two young pupils were Cole Halliday and Nadia Zawierucha, who was pleased to say that this sports day was one of many to come.

After the exhausting long run, the children were excited for an easy jump to get some points for the hopeful chance of winning and going to the fun packed activities at the well-known leisure centre. Long jump became a great success as children jumped from 0m to 1.5m, surprising all teachers in their wake. Sprint and short run was a good way to end the fatiguing sports day as it gave the children something to remember their first sports day by.

To reward them, the children got flavoured ice lollies to cool them down and after they all settled down, the scores were announced… All teams did incredibly well as they all got over TEN THOUSAND POINTS!!!
