Year 6 Retreat Day: Inspiration, Reflection, and Faith
What a truly memorable day we had hosting our Year 6 retreat! We welcomed 170 pupils from local Catholic primary schools, along with visitors from our local Catholic high school, Holy Cross, for a day filled with inspiration, reflection, and faith.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly our visiting speaker, Chris Lubbe, who was Nelson Mandela’s bodyguard. Chris shared his fascinating story of the fight against apartheid, captivating the children with his experiences and powerful message. There was so much for the pupils to reflect on as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey at high school.
The day concluded with a beautiful Mass in our church. As always, visitors were amazed by the singing at St Joseph’s — our children truly are incredible!
It was a day of learning, reflection, and community, leaving our Year 6 pupils inspired and ready to take their next steps with confidence and faith.
