Year 6 Poetry Stars Shine Bright!
Our talented Year 6 poets have been reaching for the stars—literally! As part of the ‘What’s Your Story, Chorley?’ reading festival, they entered a poetry competition with the theme ‘The Universe’, and today, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the awards ceremony at Chorley Little Theatre.
The excitement didn’t stop there! We were welcomed by some very special guests, including our local MP, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, poet Dom Conlan, and the Mayor of Chorley. What an honour!
A huge congratulations to Evie and Eva, who were crowned winners of the competition! Their out-of-this-world poems wowed the judges, and we couldn’t be prouder. But the celebrations don’t end there—all of the incredible poems written by our Year 6 pupils are now proudly on display at Chorley Library for everyone to enjoy.
Well done, Year 6! You’ve truly proved that your words can take you anywhere—even to the stars! ✨
