This week Astley class went on a school trip to Martin Mere. Over the past few weeks we have been learning all about Minibeasts so we decided to go to Martin Mere to put all our knowledge to good use and find some Minibeasts, and to find out even more about them
So, our trip started with coach journey and thanks to the risk assessment all children carried out before the trip they all knew how to behave on a coach and most importantly that we must wear our seatbelts all the times.
After a very warm welcome from the staff at Martin Mere our Minibeast discovery began at the ponds. Every child was given a fishing net and we began finding and identifying all the water Minibeasts. We then set of for a walk to the woods where we found even more Minibeasts; we were more familiar with the ones we found in the woods.

As well as all our Minibeast searching we also found time to spot some very playful otters, feed the lovely ducks, ducklings and beautiful flamingos and of course spend some time on the fantastic play area. It was a wonderful day and all the children behaved exceptionally, they were a credit to the school.
