Can You Make A Compass?

This week we have been learning about position and direction because we need to know about North, East, South and West then we can use maps.  We have looked at a map of an island as well as the local area and we have used digi maps to find our locality.  So that we know which direction North is, we made our own compass using a magnet, a needle, a float and some water.  Take a look at the photos.

During the week we have been reading the Katie Morag story about her Grandmothers and now we are making our own books on the ipads using the Book Creator app.  We’ve also been writing our own sentences indoors and out.
