This week Birkacre have been teeth chattering! We have been looking at our teeth and discovering the different shapes they are as well as the different jobs they do.

So we decided to have a good look at own and each others teeth with the help of mirrors. Mrs Murphy brought in moulding of her son’s teeth so we could see the different shapes they are.

Did you know that our molars are for crushing and grinding food? Our canines are for ripping and tearing but our incisors are like scissors and they cut the food up?

Next week we are going to explore how to look after our teeth and try to find which is the best toothpaste. Then after that we are going to find out the journey our food takes after we have chewed it.
