Such a fun-filled week…
Astley class have been incredibly busy this week, with lots going on! Firstly, in Literacy we have been using all the describing words we thought of last week and writing our own description of the lion from the book ‘We’re going on a lion hunt’. All the writing was fantastic, well done guys!
We also took a trip down to the garden of EDEN on a beautiful sunny afternoon to talk more about our RE topic ‘Friendship’. The children were fantastic at thinking about all wonderful and difficult things about being a friend. Later that day we had another treat, Mrs Taylor had brought in lots of African artefacts into school for us to look at. Mrs Taylor could explain what they all were very well as she used to live there as a child, it was very interesting!
On Wednesday we had the wonderful John Burland in school, he taught us all some fantastic songs and dances that we can learn more about during our RE lessons, everyone had a great time.
Then on Thursday Mrs Rennison and Mr Maloney came to visit us in class and we had an art day. Everyone got stuck in and created some fantastic piece of African related art that will be displayed around our classroom.
And finally, on Friday we took part in an ‘empty classroom’ day were we did almost all our learning outside. Starting with phonics outside in the morning and in maths we were looking at money so we set up an outdoor shop and all went on a shopping spree!!
Hope this week didn’t tire you out too much as next week its ‘Health and Fitness week’. So much more fun to be had….
Such a fun-filled week…
