Were cavemen artists?
Were cavemen artists? Of course they were – all over the world there is evidence of early art on cave walls and this is what we have been studying this week. Obviously Mrs Blackledge wouldn’t want us drawing on the walls in school so we used sand paper to give a texture that was a bit like the inside of a cave. Cave men also wouldn’t have used paint like we do today so we used pieces of charcoal which would have been readily available in the Stone Age.
As well as our wonderful art work we have also been taking a close look at different kinds of rocks. Do any of you know the three different rock groups? Ask your child they should know. We did lots of different tests to find out some of the properties for the different rocks. There is even one rock that floats!
It’s not all been hard work this week as we have had a chance to let down our hair and go a bit crazy. We have been thinking about how we could use different adverbs in our writing although some of us weren’t quite sure what they all meant. This was a perfect opportunity for us all to have a go at acting different ones out. Ethan got to crawl slowly across the floor and Lacey crazily ran around the room which soon had everyone laughing their heads off.
Stay tuned next week to find out why it was we needed our wellies in school.
