Junior Taster Day

16 July 2015

Junior Taster Day. On Tuesday we welcomed the Year 2 children into the Juniors so they could see what it was like to be in the ‘big’ part of school. We had a little chat about anything they might be worried about and how the juniors were just the same as the infants really. We had a look round so that we would know where to put our coats and lunches and made sure we knew where the toilets were. Then we had a go at doing some writing so that I could find out a little bit more about them and what they like. As well as that we did some painting with Mr Maloney who will be working in our class next year.

Last of all we talked about some of the top tips for being in the juniors here’s what we came up with:

  • Bring a piece of fruit for play time as free fruit is not given to the juniors and we also go in for lunch later (it’s a long time to wait from breakfast till lunchtime).
  • Make sure you remember your reading book every day.
  • Don’t make too much noise in the toilets (it makes Mr Broomhead and Mr Roden grumpy)
  • Don’t worry and smile every day!
