To Bee or not to Bee

Rivington class Spelling Bee got underway this week with all the class participating. After a few early round exits, we were left with a group of 7 finalists which then dwindled to 3 after some tough spelling challenges.

After a mistake from Ethan in the final round, only Julia and Zara remained. The Grand Final will be held next week. Tune in next time to discover the Spelling Bee Champion 2018!

In maths we have been working on measurements, particularly converting measurements: mm-cm; cm-m; m-km and then measurements of mass: g-kg and vice-versa.

In literacy this week, we have been ͚swotting up on our grammar features as the summer tests fast approach. Modal verbs; past and present progressive tense; determiners; relative, possessive and personal pronouns have all featured.

In topic, we have been studying the Formby Point case study ready for our field trip there next week. We will be studying sand dune erosion and deposition of sand. The children have produced some excellent cross-sectional drawings to show sand dune formations and it is this that we will investigate next week.
