This week we have been focusing on our landscape drawing in art. We have experimented with line guides for foreground, middle ground and background which helped us to segment a landscape up into specific zones. This helped us to tackle more complex drawings of more difficult vistas. We then headed up to Healey Nap to practice our new skills and you can see some of the photos below.

In maths we have been tackling percentages this week, with many children moving on to converting harder fractions into percentages and tackling difficult word problems relating to this.

In literacy and spelling we have had a focus on proof reading to pick up on spelling and grammar mistakes which is currently our biggest problem in Y5. There have been some improvements this week but there is still a long way to go. We must take more care Rivington Class!
