VIKINGA! VIKINGA! VIKINGA!

Monday saw us on our adventure to Lancaster to meet two real life Vikings, Linden and Olaf. Boy oh boy that Olaf was one scary guy! We learnt so much, for example did you know that in a Viking home the men cannot sit down until all the ladies have. In fact it is the lady of the house who is the boss. They make all the decisions about trade and farming. Who’s the boss in your house mum or dad?

We have also had a visit from Mrs Crowther’s daughter Lorien. She was helping us to look at how our bodies grow from being a baby, to a small child and then on to a grown up. Did you know that even though Ellis in year 6 is older than Niamh, Niamh is 39cm taller than her? We also found out that Nadia in year 1 is taller than all but 3 of the children in our class. Incredible!

Finally we have put the finishing touches to our Viking TV. Over the last few weeks we have been learning how to make stop motion animations. We designed storyboards then created our own little cartoons. They might only be very short but you need 24 photographs to make one second of animation.
